Bleeding Blue, Purple, and Gold

article image placeholderBleeding Blue
My dad was born the following year, and he gave my dad the name Sanford, his middle name after Sandy Kofax. My grandpa was Jewish American. So Sandy Koufax, especially, was like the guy. And even as a kid, if I went to my Grandpa's house and there was a Dodger game on, I'd have to wait until the commercial to say Hi, because if I didn't, then he'd bust out that New York attitude. My dad is a huge Soldiers fan

And you might not remember this was on TV as a member of the Not Howie guy, and it really kind of p***** my older brother and I off to think that my younger brother was selected out of the audience and we had to sit there and wait while he was on TV on the not whole thing. So brought back some really fond memories. I really disliked the Dodgers because I think they portrayed me

Hey, Howie, thank you for sharing that. Any chance I get to hear about Evett's Field is a privilege. I wish I had more chances to, you know, talk to my grandpa about it. But I know he used to go to Gamesville all the time, and I I still have my uncle who will tell me about when he was a kid, when my grandpa would take him to Abbott's Field. So yeah, thanks again. I loved hearing those stories

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm sitting here and I don't know what made me think about this, but I got a great big smile on my face. I remember going to Ebb's Field one day. And Preacher Howie was on the mound. Preacher Roe was was a notorious spitball pitcher. And the umpire, the home by the umpire, asked him for the ball. He rolled it in on the ground. The crowd went crazy. They were yelling and screaming and clapping

So to think how many generations these guys transcend to carry on the history of these teams? Guys like Vin and Tommy La Solda. I know you're not a daughter's fan, but I feel like every team kind of has those guys that are just sliphers and they just dedicate themselves to those teams. It's it's admirable and it just transcends the sport and it makes it into a community
