Q.1 Do you think taking care of your mental health on a regular basis is as important as taking care of your physical health? @mira.gopal

Everybody would just say oh just go outside and take a deep breath and everything will be fine but no it does not happen in that particular manner, we have to take care of our mental health. So let's start with this question only so my first question for you would be how important and do you think is it important to take care of your mental health just as we take care of our physical health?

So we have to understand our emotions. As a society, we have to move away from showing good, wearing the mask of being good, acknowledge ourselves to be humans. Having anger, ego, grief and all doesn't make you a bad person. If you are aware of your thoughts, if you are aware of your emotions, and if you can manage your emotions, and if your mind is in peace, understand physically also you will be fine. 70% to 80%

Q2. Did you ever come across a situation where you were so exhausted that you just wanted to get disconnected from the outside world? @mira.gopal

Similarly, if we won't work out, if we won't eat right, if we won't take care of our physical health, then obviously we won't feel good and our mental health will decline. So I think people should understand that we have to manage between mental and physical health, not only our physical health. Because just looking good would not guarantee a positive and a healthy mind

If you are taking care of your child, 24 bar Seven there are many occasions where you just feel tired but you cannot take rest because your baby might want food, baby might be throwing tantrums, your baby might be needing you in multiple ways. So much needs of your child is there that even if you are exhausted to the brim, both physically and mentally, you have to stand up and do things. So that is the reality of being a mother. I'm not telling

Q3. Postpartum Depression & Motherhood: What do you do in these kind of situations? @mira.gopal

Okay. Mira so I'm really proud of you and kudos to you for speaking about it. Along with motherhood, I think there's a term called postpartum depression, which is depression when you give birth, like after birth situation where the mother does not want to do anything because but she's so exhausted

Whenever I got free time, I have read, I have tried to understand that what I am feeling is normal, it's not abnormal. So that is what a mother should first accept, understood whatever you are feeling is normal. Second, the family has to give time to the mother somebody das to be there with the lady till she is equipped to handle the baby all the time. When I say all the time, it has to be all the time

Q4. Before wrapping this interview, is there any general advice that you can sharw with us? @mira.gopal

So I think everybody should do that and obviously a mother should take out some time for herself and she should pamper herself. She can give us some sparse into music or just sleep. A mother requires a lot of attention after she gives birth, which many people don't understand. They will just be like oh, take care of a child, take care of a child. But nobody says take care of yourself, which I think is very important

@Manalika

Even if you don't have the greatest of marital relationship, fine. If you are single, then also fine. If you're diversity, that's also fine. If you don't have children, if you don't want children, fine. If you want to be a single mother, fine. So we have to accept ourselves than trying to fit into the template the society has created and joined the rat race. Where are we going? We are not going anywhere
