Summer if Freedom….Leaving Mississippi…

article image placeholderUploaded by @MamaMinnie
Fanny Lee Cheney, James Earl Cheney's mother, had told her best friend, Martha Edwards that morning, Mississippi black dirt won't be wet with one more of my tears. I was born right here in Meridian, Mississippi, but the last night I will spend here is the one when they find my boy. Fannie Lee had had only one thought in her head since the morning they told her James Earl was missing. The burned out hull of the core station wagon had confirmed her worst fears

Those kind of people still exist. They walk the streets. They drive the roads. And I cannot conceive of a time when bigotry will be eradicated, where fear will be eradicated, and where we can all live as one peoples based upon how we treat each other. I don't know if this is ever going to change, but I have taught my children and my grandchildren, and even my great grandchildren that people and animals and plants are all valuable

Oh, my goodness. I can hear the Mississippi, the Alabama in your voice. As you talk. I can see old live oak trees with moss dripping off of them. You have such an amazing voice. I could listen to you talk about anything all day long because your voice is so unique. We don't have a lot of unique voices, people, items anymore. Nobody really appreciates or values unique
