And I was just so like, oh my gosh, this is just so mean spirited, in, hate filled because it just seemed like it didn't have any type of, hey, let's play devil's advocate. There are some people who don't do right with child support and understandably you would be frustrated by that, but what about the people who are raising their children alone and they don't get the support and the help that they need both emotionally and financially? What about them?

And it was instituted at first for those in destitute and whatnot, but it ended up becoming something of a means of capital gain, depending on who you are. There's a lot of stories and stereotypes associated with child support. I for one, have never been on child support and I have five kids with the woman I am no longer with. Usually that means I got to start paying child support, but I am actually supporting my kids more than 50% of the time

And he was very relieved because he, too, heard all of these stereotypes about what happens when you separate and divorce, that he thought that I would want to take up all of this time with our son. And I said, absolutely not. He needs both of us to be a healthy, full human being. And so that was the angle we went. We divide up everything as equally as possible
I wasn't there for my children emotionally much because of me working all the time. But I had the support of my mom and my dad and my brothers and my sisters and my aunts. So it was a village. Whatever I couldn't supply, my family took up the slack. My kids, when they were toddlers, I got really ill, so my parents did step in. But I don't regret anything I did with regards to my children
Everybody's making money. Judges, lawyers, counselors, police masters, mediators, psychiatrists, everybody. The children aren't really helped. It's just a system. So we're working on legislation in all 50 states. Ohio is doing a bill this year and most legislators are coming back as of January

Hi, I'm Kanay. I usually hear pronouns. I wanted to respond to child support. Is it for the kids? For you? I'm married. I've been married to my husband for 13 years. We've been together for 15. We have never had to coparent. However, I am a child of divorce and so my parents were often supposed to coparent and that's not what happened. When my parents got divorced, they were divorced after 18 years of marriage

Again, when a parent leaves from the household, the idea, from what I was told years ago, the idea in the child support was to make things so that financially the impact of that missing income didn't impact the child in such a way where now they were enrolled in karate class

Thank you so much for sharing your story. And you know, it's people like you, right, that make me want to post the questions to hear exactly what it is you have to say. You educated me. I feel like men suffer to men go through the same as women, just in different ways and we don't highlight enough. The other end of that, not every woman is deserving to have the children, keep the children
