Film Question: Best and worst casting?

article image placeholderUploaded by @livblair
I thought that she was just, like, amazing, and I really don't think I would have enjoyed the movie as much without her. Like, even though it was just like a side character, I thought she added so much to the movie and I really thought that she played the character well, and I think just having her in there just gave something to the movies that it really didn't have. It added like, an element of humor and light heartedness that it really needed

Those movies were kind of a different vibe than obviously Christian Bale, but they were funky and they were fun, and he had the whole, like, I can't turn my head because my suit doesn't have that mechanism. He played it off really well. I liked Michael Keaton in that. I loved Christian Bale, but Ben Affleck just I don't know. I think the whole thing about Batman is like he's human and he doesn't have any special powers

Although my knee jerk reaction was one of total disgust. For best casting, I have to give a shout out to a couple of films that I've watched again recently, The Wolf of Wall Street and then also Django Unchained. And the actor I got to give a shout out to is Leonardo DiCaprio. But then I also need to give a shout out to Christopher Waltz for Django and for Inglorious Bastards

First of all, I love this question. I think about this all the time and my immediate reaction to worst casting was just a movie that I absolutely despise. And there are not many movies that I feel that strongly about, but the live action remake of Avatar The Last Airbender was just so problematic in every single way. The casting paid no attention or it disregarded the atmosphere of the cartoon, which I love so much. Like completely. There was no I don't even know

Hi. So I've never really been into, like, Marvel Universe or DC Comics or anything. So I didn't get the chance to watch that yet. But I can see that what you're saying about someone playing, like, a superhero character so robotic, because I feel like you can't do that because it's like the audience has nothing to connect to

So I can see why that would be like a weird casting. Leonardo DiCaprio really just kills everything. The anger that he was able to channel, especially in his team with Margot Robbie, was just like, it's insane. So good. And then you brought up Joe Pesci. I just remember watching him at home alone, and I was like, I'm terrified of this guy. Like, it really just felt like he was just like that character was amazing

And then it goes on the screen, and then obviously, you're going to get backlash about it because. Why wouldn't you think about that? It's weird to me, like, how that could just not even come to the minds of people who, like, that is their job. But you said about Johnny Depp. Oh, my God. I completely agree. He's literally my favorite Edward Scissorhands. He adds layers, character that barely even speak
