4 Ways "You" is like "Dexter" and 1 Difference

article image placeholderYou vs. Dexter
They spend an inordinate amount of time constructing this facade, and maybe on some level they think that they are normal, but just fatally thought if they had different childhoods, maybe they would have turned out to be normal. The second similarity is between them being motivated by love, but then having a dysfunctional way of expressing it, they do anything to protect the experience of love, whether in terms of family or with a mate. Unfortunately, this often gets them in trouble

Do you see any differences or similarities? #popculture #television @bowie @Taylor @Charlieri @FryedOreo @soulcruzer

Yeah. My friend and I, we were talking about this. The inner dialogue, obviously between Joe and Dexter is very apparent. And you pointed out that was great thing. Whereas Dexter, he had a career centered around his past time hobby, whereas Joe is more out of the way. And to be honest, it's a little more sloppily executed, no pun intended, but I feel it's more believable of Dexter, of the two

@FryedOreo inner voice!

You know, it's interesting. One of the things you're pointing out is that Dexter was kind of more admirable in a way, but yet he wasn't as real as Joey is. So that's an interesting dichotomy you have there. And I also thought it was interesting. You were pointing out the inner dialogue of both, which I did notice at the time

I am so excited to watch the new Dexter miniseries. It's been so many years, and I really, really have wanted to see where else his story could go. I was such a huge fan of Dexter, I think partially because of what you pointed out, there was like a certain kind of justice to his killing that I don't think is quite the same when it comes to Joe

@bowie 🙏

I'm going to create a swell kind of talking about the new Dexter and get people's thoughts on it. But just briefly, I think it leans in and once you see it, it's going to lean into some of the that you're talking about in an interesting way. So thank you for replying and giving me this idea
