Our capacity for change is limited, we have a love/hate relationship w/change

So I'd like to initiate a conversation here on Swell. I'm going to put a link to audio recording I created up on my Twitter account. It's fairly lengthy. It's probably about eight minutes long, but I'm curious. The thing I want to discuss is that change. How do we feel about change? I think we we we we we we we we we we we we we we we have a lovehate relationship. Change is part emotional, psychological as well as intellectual

I’d like to explore, listen to my Twitter audio (8 minutes) approximately https://s.swell.life/SSHwk8ZhgUMx7Tf

On change, ambiguity & uncertainty. @LifeOrigami

So of course, the emotional turmoil, but also the existential question of what is this going to be for a meaningful person to depart from my life? And how is this going to affect my future? So perhaps a little bit egotistically flavored, but the ambiguity, the uncertainty is the problem under the hood. I think the same actually goes for the loss of a job

My jaded response @Zeitgeist

They go to the hospital, they got to wait in line. There's certain things we endure in our society. But somehow you ask them to wear a mask when they're shopping and they're going to have a freaking meltdown. It just is too bizarre. And so I wonder, the thing I'm struggling with with all this change is the fact that what I thought our society was about

Different brains, different approaches. @LifeOrigami @Zeitgeist https://s.s

I haven't really dug into this, but I've wondered about some of these things for a while. I know the brain is a muscle, and I know that we can change the way it thinks, we can make it grow, we can expand it. There's a lot going on throughout our entire lives with our brains

Can you repost the link please

Hey, Christina, thanks a lot for your contributions to this conversation, and we actually have in our business life or Gammy, we actually have a very specific structure and process for rewiring the brain. The brain does play a very important role in our ability in our capacity to absorb change. That link that you talked about got truncated

Sorry about that. I never know when it's really truncated or whether it just looks truncated. So here's the link below

Change foists varied threat levels. @Zeitgeist @LifeOrigami @SeekingPlumb

Hayline lifeorigami. I believe change is inevitable, that it foists upon each individual, not so much a cognitive load, but a threat level, and that that threat level will determine how well and what that person does in response to it
