#TellYourStory | Lines from a poem that I can never forget...

I heard this quote on a movie years and years ago that just never left me. And it was D. H. Lawrence. I never saw a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bow without ever having felt sorry for itself. I've had a great love of little birds here in northern Minnesota. Their absolute power to live through anything, but more than anything, is when it is so bitterly cold

It's almost a mystery, ignored, at least in western society, when death is just a different form of birth into a new element that we don't understand. But it has a protocol, interestingly enough, similar to giving birth, certain things happen. So maybe it's just all the unknown, and that bird is fully programmed with what it needs to know, and we just aren't. I don't know. Fascinating. Fascinating poem, though
