So they presumed that he would be guilty of the slayings, but he was acquitted because, you know, if the glove doesn't fit, you have to acquit. Right. So anyway, he was ordered to pay the family's $33.5 million in damages, which made him give up his Brentwood estate. And then he moved in Florida to avoid the civil judgment, basically. So he was trying to shield his assets. But anyway, this was the trial of the century

So I can't help but think of the line from the movie barbershop where Cedric the entertainer's character was like, oh, Jay did it. That's all I could think about. Oh, Jay did it. But may he rest in peace. And, um, definitely the trial of the century. I still. I don't know if he did it, though. Not that I would know. Right. Killing someone isn't as easy as people think

This man was on the Wheaties box, and I shall respect the dead. May you rest in peace. He was always one of the greatest in the philanthropies of all time. All american, I believe. Hall of Famer. I don't know what to say. May his family, you know, be at peace. There's just way worse men out there to talk about. And he wasn't really that bad. So, I mean, yeah, he did a stunt, tv stunt

One extra donation to a charitable organization to help women who are in domestic abuse scenarios, to help men who are traumatized or whatever it is you want to do. You know, help teachers, because they are woefully underpaid, especially in the public school systems. And think about what we could have possibly learned from this OJ Simpson scenario

I don't think the prosecution did a good job in bringing the evidence like they could have against him. And then he had really good lawyers, really good lawyers to try to get him off, and they did. But, girl, he did it

Hey, thank you so much. You know, OJ's reputation was trash and it's unfortunate because he has such a good career, he has so much that he did that was right, that this thing that he did that was wrong overshadowed his whole entire career, his life. And it took away from him so many things including money and time and valuables that he had. So. And then the way everybody looked at him because personally I think he did it. I really do

Hey, thank you so much. You know, I don't know what the grand lesson was in regards to the OJ case. The only thing that I could take away from it was, you know, that anger. Anger can really bloom into something that cannot be stopped. Before Nicole was murdered, there really was no domestic violence laws or

I'm cracking up, lady fi. Oh, my God. I crack it up. But, you know, though, the defense's job was only to defend him, so they didn't have to prove who did it, which I think there was a con. There was a conversation about that on Facebook. Somebody was saying that he knows who did it. Either he hired someone or his son did it. I think his son was really young at that time

And I. I found that really sad and also, in a way, disturbing that in someone's death, people take that opportunity to use their energy to speak negative on this man's life and his soul. Right? Because energy doesn't die, it transforms. And so I thought, wow, I don't really believe people might understand the magnitude of the impact that they might be really heaping on their own soul by speaking negatively on this man's soul

Hey, Jl, I think it's good that you look at it like that, that we shouldn't talk, you know, bad about the dead. Excuse me, I have a bad cold, but in my eyesight and. Oh, my God, you were fourth grade. I was grown. I was grown and married when they read the verdict. But in my eyes, this man was a murderer. And not just a murderer, but he was cruel. He was cruel to his wife

If i did it: OJ’s influence on race, jobs and law

That's how we got the term inward. You know, we got Mark Shapiro, obviously, Johnny Cochran, and so on and so on, all these different figures. Nicole Simpson, unfortunately, who became the ghost and the specter in this entire case because she just became a side character to all the spectacle, as well as Ron Goldman

Jussie Smollet: The OJ paradox

We're not his close family and friends. We're onlookers. And then it came out he was lying. He had to come out and say he was lying. And then the whole thing turned into, you know, again, him trying to get a raise. And then his statements of being the gay tupac, it got to be very bizarre. And I remember when it came out, I said I knew he was lying. No one apologized

The Jussie Smollett case does directly tie into OJ, and people don't see it. But there's an invisible line that's leading to it due to the fact that we steady believe that celebrities cannot be prosecuted for things that they do wrong, whether they're white or black, but especially black, because we feel like, as black people, and I'm just speaking for myself sometimes, that we've been persecuted enough that other races get away with stuff
