I'm very grateful to him for producing some of the shows that I grew up with, like all in the family or Maude, Sanford and Son, one Day at a Time, the Jeffersons, Good Times. He did so many things, and I'm just really grateful that his life of curiosity, tenacity, empathy, and his creative mind just kept on going. He kept on bringing hit after hit after hit show. With the hit show all in the family, which began in 1971

I don't think any other sitcom would even think to put a comedy sitcom in that location, but Norman Lear did it and he went there. And my personal favorite, and I just have to mention The Jeffersons. I loved Sanford and Son as well, but The Jeffersons, that was probably my favorite show. And I really loved the character of George Jefferson, a guy that just was self made, that just took no BS from anybody, but that know, also had a biracial marriage

Because the TV shows today, reality TV, boring to me. I mean, come on. The stuff that they put on today is garbage, complete garbage. As opposed to watching a sitcom about a family that was struggling, how they managed to get out what they did. To get out what they did while they were struggling. All of that kept us invested. But these shows today, I don't have time for it
