Should it be allowed to assign work over school breaks?

Should assignments be required on school breaks? I asked this as I just started my spring break, technically today, but it was this last weekend, and I personally had a paper that was due this last Sunday. And while I obviously actually could have worked on it within the last school week, I had a lot of midterm exams and I had other papers for other classes to do as well

But I do think for semester system wise that I understand some people want to get ahead and study and they still can't not study because they have things the next week or the week after. But I don't think there should be assignments due like, oh, it's due Sunday because I remember when I used to be at a different school last year I was on semester system and I would have assignments like the Sunday at the end of the break

But I still have so much work to do with so many things to do. And I've had professors assign 250 pages of reading for one class for one week and three writing assignments with it, which I get it. I'm in a writing intensive major. That's just part of the territory. But if you're going to assign all of that to me during the regular school days, okay, that's fine. That's fair. Understood

They probably like the idea of doing work while they have more time to not focus on meetings for school or doing anything on campus or joining on classes or anything like that, though it gives them the time to probably work on their jobs or make extra money or to relax and just be lazy. That's probably my insight about it. Yeah
