There are several films about Brian Wilson biopics documentaries. This one takes a little bit of a different approach and finds a different way into Wilson's head

But if you asked us if we thought the Beach Boys were cool, we would just completely crap on them. And I'm guilty of one of those people who dismissed The Beach Boys until I was in my late 20s, early 30s. And then, of course, you know, kind of pulled off the top of my head

I was one of those p*** and vinegar post punk punkers, and it still is all about The Clash and Echo and The Bunnymen, but I definitely decided to be proud of The Beach Boys as a guilty pleasure. I think by the time I was 16 and so I sort of wore it like a badge, and so I was able to incorporate it
