It fell short. It's a collection of short stories, which is nice so you can get through it quite quickly. But at the same time, this will seem like stories you'd find anywhere, the stories you kind of hear around campfires and stories you kind of expect. And it comes with a certain amount of predictability, which is if you pay enough attention, you see what's coming next. And that sort of takes the thrill out of it, doesn't it?
