2021: The year of the movie musical, or proof they mostly don’t work?
We've seen Hamilton itself premiere on Disney plus as an event taped recording, though I won't really count that one as a movie musical, though the Emmys seem content to count it also as television somehow, but less than that

And he was the strongest singer out of everybody in the cast because of his musical background. I feel like everybody else did not give a strong performance musically. And I hate that there were so many good songs that were cut out just to bring in original songs. It's like, okay, we get it. You're trying to get a best original song nomination out of this, but at least come up with better songs

I don't know what the answer is, but, yeah, it was just really disappointing that with those two musicals had great people in it and great songs, it just didn't know how to register as a movie
