Scott Cooper’s ‘Antlers’ an effective, if self-serious folk horror

It's the ideal setting for a horror movie like this, which, without going too deep into spoilers, revolves around a certain Algonquin folktale, a mythological creature that the characters are unfamiliar with because they really don't know the history of the land that they have both lived on and that civilization has really decimated and turned into a bit of a wasteland from that kind of Crucible. This creature emerges with little intention. Besides carrying on its lineage, which can involve taking on human hosts as the film eventually unwraps

Guillermo del Toro produced this creature feature, starring Keri Russell and Jesse Plemons.

It is a real fun place if you are into horror or Sci-Fi. I've had a lot of fun there recently and Channel Zero I enjoy despite the fact that it maybe be a little bit derivative at times. I am having fun with it. So I'll definitely say that looking forward to this. I appreciate your words

Taylor, I am so glad that you are discovering Channel Zero. This is a series that I do not think of enough love when it was on the air on Sci-fi. I just don't think that was the right vehicle for it. I think that now that it's on Shutter or so many more people are finding it. I believe it's also on prime. Maybe that's where you're watching it, if not on Shutter

Obviously, you said that Antlers is a bit scary, more scary than the original story, but I'm just energized to see that people that know how to deal with horror being more and more involved with films that are getting some pretty big screen time. I think the hype of this movie has been pretty real, so looking forward to it, let me know what you think about the viewership. I'm curious to know your thoughts
