It's an honor to have you here with us on Spend. I feel it's high time that we talk about depression openly, and it's not lurking in the shadows. And especially insights from a professional like you would be helpful for the ma'am. So my first question for you is how should one look at depression as a clinical issue? Is there a way to deal with it outside of medicine, even in extreme cases? Ma'am

So to begin with I think subsequently is important here to understand key depression because it is a little unfortunate depression plan cancel everyday problems. We are very frequently saying yeah I'm depressed right? No you are not depressed you're just sad. You are upset. Depression ache clinical term ache clinical disorder likely is not fair to those who are actually dealing with it. Key features and depression and I'm talking about it only from the purpose of giving public awareness and it should not be used for self diagnosis

Ma'am, the information you are providing us today, it's very important, especially archkelier because we take it so lightly. Depression go, we just randomly say depression, we have depression. So ma'am, thank you so much for providing us with such an insight information. But moving on to the next question

But with the recent times, things like monkey bath that has come up and other things which are happening even at an almost grassroot level is helping people in all economic as well as social status realize and understand the need for mental health. Legalization has been greatly from the Mental Healthcare Act of 2017 that I can kind of brief everybody on. Jesse one of them is Joe. Access and availability and mental health care key should we at par with the excess and availability of physical health care inhumane degrading treatment

Mental health is still a taboo in India in many places. But Jesse Apnea, Baha there are many accents, tips about mental health junkie. It makes me really happy to know all these things. What Kushi or Yaki suicide is is decriminalized because we don't really know circumstances which is such a great step to take because mental wellness moving on to the third question. Ma'am as a practitioner, what are your main learnings from treating people with depression

So I would say emotionally patients say both and especially if I were to talk with respect to those individuals that I have been treating in terms of depression, misunderstood. Like I just said, depression and anxiety are silicone again and again would like to reiterate this fact actual clinical conditions. So please don't use them that lightly. Okay Joe's actually a gig activity difficulty and for them everything is a little achievement. Just getting out of bed is an achievement

Ma'am, Jabhat Nebola Ki. Nothing is better than having the ability to save someone. I genuinely felt that because I also chose psychology in the first place. Because I want to save people from their thoughts. Because much as I you don't know what one is going through in their own mind. And yes, ma'am. Every little step for a person, struggling is an achievement. Ma'am. You said it so correctly. So

Also, I would not have it any other way. I won't trade lives. Exactly, Jessahi. If in any capacity I can be of use to my country, especially in terms of mental health, I would always be the number one person standing in front. I am there. Right. So I hope why my voice and why my vision may be and I am able to change the face of mental health in India. One step at a time. One day at a time

Ma'am, I genuinely hope that this will encourage a lot of people to pursue psychology. And mum like me, there are a lot of people who want to pursue psychology. So my last question for you is if someone is interested in, in a career in psychology, how would you say they should approach the study? And what's the potential in India according to you

But if you are very sure about the fact that hospital clinics paper teach or I don't want to get into research then doing another degree that is known as professional diploma and clinical psychology from an RCI credited University can also help you to become a clinical psychologist under the RCM who is licensed clinical psychology clinical psychologist. But the world doesn't stop there. There are a lot of different views in psychology. Counseling psychology is equally popular
