Mr. Dhruv is an ICC Level Three High Performance Coach, A Level Two ECB United Kingdom and BCCI Level A Haryana India Coach. He's successfully running Cricket Academy since 2014 in the Delhi NCR region where he has over three centers and more than 100 trainees in his earlier innings. He has also been a Ranjit Rafi player for Haryana and Machal Pradesh for over a decade. So sir, welcome to Swell. My first question to you would be tell us something about your earlier days as a cricket coach

It's not even necessary that if you're not a great player and you have a good understanding of cricket, definitely you can be a good coach. So I have realized that there is a tremendous amount of knowledge I've gained in coaching and it's just not something it's worked for me also and it's very, it's very comfortable for me. So, you know, it's great. It's been great

Is there a methodology you follow in your coaching?

Certainly it must have been a hard decision for you to become a coach. But I'm also sure that a lot of young cricketers have benefited from that decision. So moving on, my next question would be how is coaching individual you will different from maybe coaching a team, a cricket team? And is there a particular methodology or a process that you follow when you coach your trainees
@coach.dhruv

@coach.dhruv · 2:53
For example, you're playing a game like tennis and you're going through a bad run that time. You don't have anyone to discuss that with. But at the same time when you're playing cricket and you're a bowler and you're being hit, then you have your fielders to be discussing it to keep your moral up. So you have to balance that out. So these things are there. But coming to the methodology, I personally feel that it's all about man management

Best moment of your life as a cricket coach?

Since we are talking about this very, very personal and a strong relationship between a coach and a player, my next question to you would be what has been your in your career as a coach? What has been is like the biggest achievement, something that has made you extremely proud of being a coach. And what has been like the best moment of your life as a cricketing coach

Hi Pratik thank you thank you for the appreciation try and do as many courses as you can I know fitness are courses handy it is very difficult to find good courses impact in terms of with your VCCI but there are a lot of courses learn curse if you don't think about the certification think about learning first

See, I'm not even 67 years old in my coaching career and I don't expect to be so to be called achievements at this point of my time. And when you talk about achievements, it I don't even believe in that word in this particular field

Fitness and nutrition in cricket

Completely agree behind the success of every player. There are dozens of people who are involved, who have put in the hard work their effort to ensure the success of that player. And it's a responsibility that of all of us that they also get the due credit of the success of the player. My next question would be regarding fitness and nutrition because today the sport has gotten much more competitive. We have heard details of how he had to leave his eating butter chicken, which was like his favorite meal

But that time I realized that I had to work more on my skills and not on my fitness because that was a bit natural to me. But I did not work too much on the skill. And you have to know that cricket is a 70% to 80% skill game. Fitness is of course important, but when you compare it with other sports, cricket fitness, cricket fitness is way below par

Thank you so much sir. Now, opening up the floor for audience questions

I think this is a very important message and a lesson which you have given to everybody, cricketer and cricket fans, that while fitness and all nutrition, this is important, but it's not the most most important thing. Ultimately, what matters in your cricketing career is your skills, your technical skills, which would make you a better cricketer. So thank you so much, sir, for giving your time and for sharing your insightful thoughts. And I'm also opening up the floor now for audience questions

I think upside direction. You're following Stephanie Jones and you're following a lot of people who give knowledge, and that is a great thing. But every player is different, which is happening a lot these days. So you're doing a great job. Experience. It is a lot to do with each and every player. It's great to hear that it may pay. You been doing this work and learning so much

But two or three questions probably which come to mind and since you would follow the game religiously. So I just wanted to ask you first thing is of course this entire shift in the captain of Indian team Koli is one of the greatest batsmen but Abi's performance has started to dip down which is still even if it is dipping down he still believed to be one of the greatest and he has made sure of that

And I will not comment unless and until I know everything about it. And I'm no one to comment on that. But when it comes to will come back to form or not. I mean, there's no question he will come back. He's a mentality monster. He is too big and too mentally strong to not come back from this

Of course he's injury prone, maybe because of his action, et cetera. But again, these guys are very good mentally and luckily in this area, as I said, they have a lot of opportunities. They will come back stronger because they've already proven to the world that they belong to that world class, live in

I genuinely believe that there should not be any comparisons. When you talk about Gary Ghost Ravisha, they're all brilliant coaches. How many comparisons can make a little bit comment on that. They are top, top level coaches. And what I said in the beginning was that Lincoln what I meant was that is also very crucial when we talk about comparisons. I think they are brilliant in their own fields

Okay. I know but I would still like to share my perspective without clearly not being a captain won't affect him because everyone is talking about this lean phase or bad form but still he has scored more than 23 half centuries past three years in every format. I think what was impactful missing like a big century or without but still without cooly as a people Batchman is doing great
@Gaurav1106

So century I got I think it would give the rush to the Indian fans, Cole fans especially and that would be very good to see and I just hope you Lanka again test me Aja. That would be a very important milestone. And coming to the point what Russell mentioned about the coaches, I completely agree to that point sir. I completely completely I think that makes a lot of sense

3 things you would say to every budding cricketer? @coach.dhruv

I mean, in every street of India, there is someone who aspires to make a career in cricket. So based on your experience as a player and as a coach, what would be the three things you would say to any budding cricket like as as a form of a device? What would be the three things you would say to anyone who is thinking of making a career in cricket? What are the things which they must keep in mind before deciding to dive into cricket

Hi Joshua, I'm so much amazed and inspired by your work. I just wanted to know what all difficulties and troubles you have faced in the beginning of your career. What hardships had you faced in your earlier times and how did you manage to overcome it? How did you bear so much pressure on you and everything about it? It would be great if you could tell me that. Thank you so much

So I decided to do a course in journalism. I'm doing my BA now and I want to be in sports journalism broadcasting world

So I Tanjot complain. Yes, there could have been things I would have done by better, but that happens with everyone, right? I mean, you don't take the right decisions all the time, so there's no regret in that. And talking about the difficulties, I take things as it comes never feel that this is going to be difficult, and I don't want to solve that problem. And these things are going to come. And I always take it as a challenge

Hello, sir. Thank you so much for your response. I really appreciate it. And yes, whatever you said, it's just so right and so good to hear. And yes, we ourselves create some different difficulties for us. That's a valid point. And I get it. If we are choosing some path for ourselves, whatever will happen in that way, our choice, and if that decision is based, our hearts, we won't really regret it
