Giving up Control; The path to finding God

It always wants to be in power. The ego is just a simulation simulated via our brain. And the ego has put itself in charge of that simulation. People get it wrong when they say that this life we see is a simulation. They believe that it's a simulation run on computers. No

It's hard, re-writing the programs that Modern Society has instilled into our Minds, but by giving up control we are on the fast track to betterment.

Question, @Incredilous.

Hey, Sergio, welcome to Swell. For lack of a better phrase, I'm going to play Devil's advocate. Here is addiction. An example of having given up control, having something else. Someone else take control

Very Amazing question Christina

An addiction, no matter what the addiction is, it brings with it hits of dopamine that the brain and body begin to rely on over time, which is what makes it an addiction. And in that sense, all addictions become something that the body craves over enough time, even something that isn't chemical like, say, a pornography addiction, for example, your body will still become dependent on that addiction because even that will release chemicals in your brain

Another question, @Incredilous.

Okay, then here's another. You talked about the difference between giving up control to the better versus the lower innately. There is desire built into that to leave behind the lower to reach for the better. So is desire really the root of all suffering

You've got the most wondrous responses Christina, I love them.

Because if you desire enlightenment, then you will seek it to the extent that you will forget that you already have enlightenment. Let's just put myself in the shoes. Say I was seeking enlightenment. And if that was something I wanted, it was something I desired because I wish to change myself. So yes, I desire change for me. If I were to put myself in that position, that would be my goal

Thank you & an oops. @Incredilous

Thank you for your kind words. I completely agree about suffering. There's no escaping it. It will always be with us. And it's sort of that honing stone that will help continue to show shape our growth. I mistakenly thought you said or implied that we needed to eliminate desire altogether. And I don't think that that's possible. But that was where my question was coming from

Well, Christina, you had amazing questions, and, you know, I look forward to your analyzing on maybe future swell casts of mine that I throw out there because, you know, you really did make me think. And you know, that's what I'm looking for. People that can make me think and make me understand what I'm saying so I can help other people understand
