I finally watched "Turning Red"

But Besides that part, the plot of the movie was so good. I think it does a really good element of explaining being second Gen or being a child of color where you have to market. You have two versions of yourself, you have the version of yourself that you are for your family, and you have the version of yourself that you are for your friends. And I think that it was very beautiful to watch may go through this internal struggle that I personally identified with a lot

And he had come under fire for some comments that he made about the film in his review. And I couldn't believe what I was reading. I just thought it was kind of insane. But the guy basically said that the film was isolated. He felt like he couldn't get into it because the director was essentially making a film about herself and this small community in Canada and all of her friends. And he didn't feel like he could relate to it

But I've developed enough critical thinking skills to be able to step outside of my own perspective and find things in characters that look nothing like me or they're not from places that I'm from and I engage. And I'm able to relate to these characters, or I'm able to find a piece of myself in these characters because I'm able to see outside of my own perspective. If you are a cisgender, white, heterosexual male, most movies are about you or for you

The red panda is a metaphor, loved this movie and thing is a great comign of age movie

The whole reason she turns into a Panda is because it's a metaphor for her getting her period. So not only does Disney do a great job showing off different cultures, and I actually didn't know it was directed by a woman. That is fabulous. But also it is a great comingofage photo movie
