Day 134……fighting against myself!!

So this is the fight I'm having with myself, and I'm glad Swell is here for me to really kind of express that and ask you guys at any point in your life, have you identified your addiction, if you have one? And I'm not talking about drugs here, because that's not my business, right

I was 21 when I got pregnant with my first child, and I was in those streets. And the day I found out I was pregnant was the day I stopped hanging out in those streets. I knew I couldn't be a mother and be out there like that, so I had to give that up. I think being a parent made the decision to have a clean break, cold turkey a lot easier than it would have been for you

It's really unfortunate. And people look down at these individuals, and I have to say, just from my own perspective, that working in prisons and jails, they have been the most appreciative patients that I've ever worked with. Which is sometimes it does pull at your heartstrings to see the kind of people that are incarcerated. And you wonder sometimes, like, what's their story? What brought them here?

If they don't have crime, how do they pay all of these officers that they've built these buildings for them to work in? How do they pay all these dudes in the county jail if they're not arresting anybody to go there? How do they pay all these prisons guards and nurses that they've made these jobs for if they don't continue to send people to prison? So it's all just a game, right? And there's a lot more to my story
