WORKPLACE BLUES | "The Office"

article image placeholderUploaded by @hope
Welcome to where the light gets in. This week we've been talking about workplace blues, how important it is for us to show up at work in our full human selves. And when we are not doing well at work and our mental wellness is challenged, there are many, many avenues to take. But the most important thing we've been talking about this week is taking charge and making things better. And how do you do that? You really engage with the people around you

And it's unfortunate how the narrative shifted from don't bring personal stuff to the workplace or leave it at home, but the workplace has become the toxic place and this is where we go to make our living. And so much could be talked about this. But I just appreciate your thoughts and your perspective on it

My daughter, thankfully, now works remote, and her husband just got, this is his last day at the office, ironically, and he starts Monday working at home. So they're happy campers now. But, yeah, I think that's all I have to share other than one thing I can relate to as a woman in office and I don't know. I'm in my 70s now. But the hardest thing I encountered working in close environments was sexual harassment

But yeah, that's a profound part of workplace culture. But I also want to say to destiny around this idea of, they always say, like, the personal has now become political. I think work has become personal. I think especially this generation coming in, work is really braided into your personal life in such a big way because people are blurring the lines all the time, and I think it's a runaway train at this point
