My FIRST Impression of ‘Deviate’ by Beau Lotto+ Can We Trust What We Perceive?
Hey, y'all. First, I want to give a shout out to Christina at seeking Plum. She recommended this book to me last year, and I've been reading it very slowly. I'm just on chapter one. It's called Deviate by Bolotto. I hope I pronounced his name right. And I'm loving the first chapter so far. The author makes a statement that if we're seeing the world for what it is, how come we're seeing it differently?
I take packing paper and I crunch it up and throw it on the floor. And my cat will plow through it when he's running around and he jumps on it, and he loves the sound of it and being able to burrow and hide in it. Anyway, what I find entertaining is that I can see these different faces or images in the crinkled paper. But inevitably, every time I show my friend, I'm like, hey, check this out. Do you see the same thing?
