I recently just got done watching a video about how we believe that pretty people or beauty talent is given to the beautiful people. And if you're talented, you have to be pretty. But Susan Oil, for example, was very unattractive to most people. And when she sang on other British version of America's Got Talent, she was captivating the audience where they were all sitting there just in awe of the fact that this person was able to sing so well
So I've personally come across stories where strong, talented, and capable women have been patronized and treated dismissively based on the assumption that beauty and brains just don't go together. If you were to ask me, the penalty for plainness or other premium for beauty are but mere tropes. And I don't buy into any of these stereotypes
