So I encourage people to begin by developing their ear, listen to a lot of different music, even if it's music you don't like, because those different tonalities and melodies and everything will help you become expansive. But when you play along to those songs, even if you're in the wrong key or doesn't sound good over time, you'll recognize what does sound good, and then you'll become good at jamming

It's also very useful if you're in a band because other band members might have ideas that they put into your songs to kind of make it become something bigger than you originally intended. But yeah, I think once you get feedback, act that's important, too. But initially, the main thing is just being able to listen to your own music through a fresh perspective
And even if you finish something and you're in the revision portion of the project, if you take a step back and return to it, or if you get somebody with a new perspective to check it out for you, then that can, in turn, help you change your perspective and develop a new perspective so that you can look at it sort of from different angles and learn to appreciate it in a new way, too. I definitely agree
