Collage: an immersive process to unblock creativity

article image placeholderUploaded by @gretalaundyart
The five by seven series is a body of work I just have developed. Over the last week, I wanted to do something that wasn't painting related because I've just been a bit was transitioning from one series to the other. And I found College is a great way to kind of push through some blockages you might have with creativity and direction

I discuss my recent 5x7 series of collages: #collage #art #creativity #artpractice #process

With instruction there’s freedom!

Sometimes art feels so intimidating, but this feels like I can almost copy what you did just to get an entry point and then find my own sort of empermata on it. Once I feel confident, but it's beautiful. I love that we're able to talk about art here and visual and show snaps of it. It's really exciting. And I'm so happy that you've taken to do this because I just want to see more of your work and learn more about your process. Thank you

But again, we had a very interesting talk just about the line between poetry and I guess visual art. And these poems were definitely both. But I've also just been so that's got me thinking, just like, oh, you can make collages out of anything, like you were saying. And when I was a kid, collaging was just the absolute greatest thing. But that brought me so much joy

Even stain the old classic, stain the paper with some coffee or tea. And then you've got a ground like a stained ground you could work on and add things to. And if it doesn't work, cut it up, put it in a box and keep it for later. You might use it again some other time. Bits of fabric, lace, old documents that you don't need anymore. Have fun on

And you can always even if you start with some water based media, like some watercolors or whatever, and then you can always collage over again. If you don't like the way it looks or rip the pages out and cut them up for something else, it's endless. If you have an open mind, I think. Enjoy

Hi Sarah, I didn't actually reply to you specifically. I'm sorry, but yeah, I left a message for you just about what you can do and some of the artists that I like. I don't have a huge list of artists actually, but I don't know if I think you're American from your accent

Wow. These are really beautiful and creative, and I think it's a really good way right now to express your feelings and your emotions and make a statement. And I think you're 100% on point with the contrast, because I feel like in the world we're in today, there's just so much contrast, and we want to move in a positive direction. And then things hit us, and it changes us, and it contrasts us to a different, I guess you could say color
