Session 11: No Face: The disembodied voice

article image placeholderUploaded by @GivingVoice
Do you feel like speaking in this space where there's no visual is a deeper, more resonant experience? And for me it has evolved to be. So for sure, I've taken the time to really drop into it, and I think I like it not to replace but to just indulge. It's like I can love ice cream, and I could love French fries. Completely different things, different experiences. Both are amazing. And I want both once in a while

Are you tuned in more? Thanks @Nicole_louw_ for the idea đź’ˇ

Asynchronous = specific. Voice = powerful channel // radio, old-fashioned

We've been a bit fed up with all these videos, and we want to be back to human contact over voice. And that's very good. That's what I'm enjoying. And it's got an old fashioned flavor. So perhaps our technological progress is a pendulum, and at the moment we're a bit moving backwards. So the definitely more important aspect of conversation over Swell, for example, is the asynchronous aspect, I think, which is a new experience, isn't it?

Hello? Hello. I'm so sorry I will not answer this question, but I would like to say if you were talking in Arabic. I will think you are my wife because both of you have the same down, same tune. I just wanted to commend this. Thanks. Bye

I love the last part of this, of what you said. It was in a hushed voice, and I felt like I was in one of those spy movies. And I want to ask you without telling the authorities, where is your shadow La? Not the exact address, but kind of where it is in the world, because I can't pinpoint it's beautiful and the value of asynchronicity. Yes, I find it a crazy graceful aspect of this milieu

@madymz Making out small differences of accents...

Sometimes they don't make much difference if they don't know any Asian language or for that matter, if they don't know many Asian people, they will think that Japanese people or Chinese people have the same language. But they are very different. Or that Japanese or Vietnamese or Chinese look the same. But it's of course not at all true. There are important differences. But when you don't know the culture, then you mix everything together. You don't see the differences

@DBPardes Rhone river before Lake Geneva, by Sion, Valais canton capital

That's where you have the Matterhorn. The servant, this famous Swiss mountain you find on some chocolates as well on the Tobler own chocolate. Have you ever been to Europe? Yes. I don't know if you're American. I thought you were. I'm not sure there. Yes. So that's my parents and I work at Lake Limo. But I often come back to my chalet. 1700 meters high. It's blended in the sun on a rock

@dzakyem 🌱

You just transported me Zycam to Lake Limo. I love the idea of listening to you in a meta sort of way because you're sort of proving out my question in this session of giving voice, because there's no way I would have been able to concentrate and imagine and conjure and be in your chalet had I been watching it and allowing for any kind of image to do work for me instead, I had to do all the work myself in my mind, and it dropped me deeper into your decision

@DBPardes Yes human voice - and tunnel shout out!...

Yes, boys can be powerful. It's not always easy to speak about some concrete elements to help others reflect. Like to. Yes, imagine. But here I am in the tunnel. In the tunnel. Whoa. This is the tunnel where we used to stick out our head when we drove up to this and I'm coming out of the tunnel. Now they had to do the road again this spring because large blocks had fallen down from the cliff. And there we are
