Work Friends?

Something that's happened recently, which I'm really happy about is since I've moved into a position of management again, because this is a cycle for me, and now I have some power and influence and control. I've noticed that the staff that I manage don't talk to me in social settings, so we had a Christmas lunch recently and I had to go. I really didn't want to go, but I had to go

Do you socialise with colleagues?

2019 vs 2020. And it’s all contextual

And then this job that I have that I'm committed to full time is now remote. So I've never been forced into a situation where I have to navigate where the boundaries are. My gut is that you have to let things happen as they're naturally going to happen. So you can have all these rules. But sometimes it's delightful to be completely surprised without losing control. So it's not a hard, fast rule for me. It's more of a circumstantial, reflective

Yes!, @DBPardes

I totally treasure those friendships and super lucky to have found those people. So thanks for applying here. Yeah, your work is quite different, isn't it? The consulting. It's not that sort of workplace where you have to be around people. I've done some consulting. I found that really interesting. I once did some consulting with the police Sergeant trainer from the police school here in Perth. I spent every second Friday with her for six months
