The Scorpion And The Frog

article image placeholderUploaded by @FryedOreo
But the scorpion we're going to talk about today is a Memphis police unit that was responsible for the tragic death of Tyree Nichols. You see, this particular unit was devised to combat gang activity, street activity. And they were given license to practically make the law, as they will on the streets of Memphis, Tennessee. And on that fateful night when Tyree was allegedly driving erratically, it gave the cops ammunition to pull him out of his vehicle

It’s A Story As Old As Time. #tyrenichols

It takes some of the blame off from them because now they can they feel like s***, you know? Like, okay, if black officers can beat the s*** out of you, maybe it's not racism. Maybe it was because he was resisted. So now when a white police officer beats the s*** out of a black man or shoots a black man, hey, it wasn't racist. He was resisted

But when you get to the rampant, the rampart in the 90s in La, another unit that was devised to bring order to gang activity, it made gangs out of the officers. And there's a famous saying from Alan Moore's, watchman who watches the Watchmen? Because when we put too much trust in the Watchman, they can abuse that trust, if for nothing else, then just because they could. And there is a race issue going on in the police force

How would you feel if they just get rid of all their equipment? Would you be for it, or would you feel maybe more unsafe? Will the public not take law enforcement serious if they take away not just their firearm, but everything, all of their equipment except for their radio and handcuffs? I don't know. I mean, I'm curious to hear your answer on this

Great question. And I think in order for police to be without guns, we would have to ban guns. That's the only way it can work. It has to be virtually impossible to own a weapon because if you don't do that, pretty much the cops would be outgunned and this would probably take maybe this would be a five to ten year plan. I think it could work, but we would have to change the culture of guns in America

You know, I think it is possible. But we would have to change the constitution. We will have to it's going to have to get violent, right? To get violent for it to get better. Because there will be a civil war, maybe not on a large scale, or it could be like a full blown out civil war, but there will be violence. So it's going to turn to a bloodbath before it gets better

It was around, but it's just not the internet that we know of now. So information didn't spread immediately, but even the media couldn't suppress all of that news. But yeah, it seems like with the rise of the internet and social media also has given rise to gun violence. I don't have the statistics on hand to confirm this, but it does feel ominous with the future we're headed to. Indeed, if we don't change
