Your dreams don't have to change though you don't know the way. In time they may surpass all you could wish today. So stop your doubting not 1 minute this world is better because you're in it. Know it's magnificent you when you're about to fall, and it's incredible you when you feel too small and always will be so live your life with joy and chase the course you seek. Just hold on to these words whenever you feel weak

And that by me just being the human that I can be and choosing to think differently and turn the other cheek sometimes and not become bitter in all the things that I could have become. And poems like this are further reminders. I want this to be everywhere. I want this to be the poem that gets circulated on Instagram that everyone needs to listen to when they're not feeling good about themselves. It needs to be one of those poems

Like swell is the place where I have the least actual contact with me. My Instagram is loosely connected to me, so I don't know how I would share that privately. It's just a little annoying. But yeah, it's out there. It got about the same number of likes as I usually get, which is I don't do this for likes. If the person or people that I write for like it, that's all that matters to me and that really doesn't happen

What I say is, you drop the mic on people, you say things, and we don't always leave space for anything to be said. But you can say that you enjoy it or you liked it, but the reality is that you are the artist and you are creating art. And art is subjective, but it's like your attachment to the work that you're creating is always going to be different than the audience's attachment to it

So it's not even intent that matters to me. Any liar, any monster is going to say that their intent is good, my intent is good. But that doesn't change what the effect is. And the effect is something that's not mine to give. It's based on the other person. So for me, I'm not concerned with the likes, the attention. I'm not concerned with the intention because I know what it is, I'm concerned with the effect

But I am curious, just as another human, if you would like to share, you don't have to share that publicly. Also, you could always message me. But I'm curious because as someone who sometimes has a problem expressing some of their negative emotions, and one of the safest ways for me to do that is through poetry, is to put it on paper and leave it there. And it's owning that those emotions do exist

My daughters will go through my books one day and see all of my poetry notes and they'll know they're there, but they're going to see what I'm at. Almost 30 so far, written this year, even though I'm not sharing anything anymore other than the one I did in the last couple of days. But they're going to look at hundreds of poems and they're going to say, well, that's weird because it's not going to go anywhere
