Why are we not able to make friends after a certain age ?

I'll know that once I get experience, the proper office life, which I haven't been able to do till now. But yes, as I said, I think this actually is something that happens and it's not just you, but all we can do is we can stay in touch with the ones whom we consider true friends over WhatsApp?
