Ben Affleck Admits He Believes His Marriage to Jennifer Garner is Part of Why He Started Drinking.

article image placeholderUploaded by @Dominique
This whole interview comes off feeling like Ben is blaming Jennifer for why he became an alcoholic and she is the sole reason of of of why he started drinking. Think that was his intention. I don't think he was trying to blame her, but that's the way it comes off feeling like that he's blaming her. He does say in the interview that he respects Jennifer, but she's just someone that he couldn't stay married to, and maybe that's true

It's become quite a toxic culture, actually, specifically for women, and it makes sense that sometimes external demands can exasperate an already tenuous situation with addiction. What he's done is he hasn't taken any responsibility by naming another person. I think if he were to make this announcement to anyone's benefit, it should be reflecting on himself and discussing how those demands exasperated versus focusing on Jennifer

She just wasn't the right person for him. So I agree. It seems like unnecessary for him to go out of his way to say she was the cause of his drinking. But celebrities, sometimes they overshare or they just slightly missed up. And because they're in the public or in the spotlight, we are able to pick it apart. They're a little more vulnerable than we are in that way. So anyway, I just agree with you. He didn't need to go there
