Photo Mission to Bryce Canyon in Snow(?)

article image placeholderUploaded by @dobbsty
But the other thing I've been on a mission for since the very first time I laid eyes on it is snow at Bryce Canyon National Park. So we've had a series of cold days and precipitation. So I do know that there was some pretty heavy snow that fell in bright earlier this week on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is now Saturday, Saturday at 04:00 A.m. And I'm not sure what we're going to see

Come along on an early morning dark drive to Bryce Canyon to see about snagging a planned photograph to complete my 2023 photo calendar

All right. Nearly an hour out. An hour in on the journey so far. Reached some curving mountain roads. Lots of snow, so that's a good sign. A lot of warning signs for elk, but have not seen anything or or any wildlife at all. It's pretty dark. Just the moonlight glowing on the white capped mountains all around. It's beautiful. Sometimes I wish there was sun to see these things, but I know that there will be just a couple of hours

The first time I came here was in 2018, and it was right after I got my travel trailer. This is one of the first spots I came to from Texas on the way out to California. So drove all the way up and around Ship Rock, New Mexico, and then came straight for Bryce Canyon. As I mentioned earlier, it was always a dream to see this place in snow. It's just such a juxtaposition with the bright orange hoodoos in the morning sun and the snow caps

Listening to Ranger discuss geology

Walking the rim. It looks like I found a Ranger tour guide. Let's check out. What do you have to say to show or something on the site that would be recognized?

If you notice when the sun comes up, usually it happens earlier today, there are quite a bit of clouds on the horizon, which I had anticipated, with the chance of it creating a very vivid and vibrant sunrise. However, it mostly acted as a screen today, so it took about an hour after sunrise, maybe 45 minutes before the sun, to really begin to illuminate these hoodoos, almost like candlesticks

I think it is so amazing that you get to be able to take pictures and, you know, just be out there in nature and just look at all different parts of the land, you know, like, that is so cool. I have a list of stuff that I want to do, like accomplish. And that was on my second. That was number two on my list

I mean, I moved out with the goal and intention to become a full time travel photographer. So whatever you proclaim, whatever you desire, whatever you seek, whatever you want, follow the same basic system steps of setting goals, achieving goals, setting more goals, achieving more goals, resting when you need, staying focused. And it's a fail proof process, in my opinion. But thank you for the love and the support
