Changing The Temperature

article image placeholderUploaded by @DerekPierre
It's. Oh, this question. When did I start to feel like an adult? You mean like, right now as I show up to this job that I really can't fucking stand just because I know I gotta pay my bills and keep health insurance and make this woman at home happy? That feels very adultish. But you know, the first time I felt like a real adult was when I got to change the temperature in my own apartment

Hi, Derek. Now that was a good swell. You made me laugh because I remember telling my kids, like, don't be touching my therapist. That was wrong with you. Especially my daughters. They love to walk around with a t shirt and some shorts on. And we live in Michigan, so they love to do it do that when it's, like, below zero outside, but then they want to crank the heat up to 80, 85 degrees. No, ma'am

You changed when you realized paying a bill, running your home, discipline, going to that job, because, you know, this is what adults do so they can get the means to maintain the lifestyle that will help you sustain a secure independence. And anybody who would challenge it is certainly stepping up to their own adulthood as made standard by your leadership. Okay, you learned that from your mother. Head of the household controlled that temperature because she controlled as an adult, that home, that secure space
