#TellYourStory | An academic achievement that I am proud of...
And she said, look, I want to submit this stuff for essays. And I was like, I really don't know about it. So she told my mom, and my mom knew I was slacking in just about every category there was. And my mom said, yo, if you have an opportunity to go do something for the NAACP, I'm not going to let you squander it. So she forced me to be a part of this, and I was so upset
Hey, Derek, this was a great, listen, I'd love to read your poetry someday if you're up for it. I think that those moments are particularly special. Right. The honor came at a time of your life when you were experiencing a bit of trouble, right. I think I certainly was there at times in high school as well. And out of that name, something really beautiful

I am a normal public speaker. I talk all day long. But when it comes to hitting this button to record, it can be kind of devastating for me sometimes. And I sit and wonder why, and then I say, I'll just post later. So I thank you for posting today, telling a really good story. Like I said, I think that poem was dope. It sounds like it's really dope

And I think that just speaks a lot to us, really living inspired lives, like, doing the things that move us and seeing how far they can take us. So thank you again, man. And if you got poetry out there, I want to hear it. Let's see what we got. I'm down. I'm down

Honestly, for me, at least, it feels like a diary, and I feel like I'm letting everybody, like, read it at the same time. So it's so powerful. It's beautiful, and I'm glad we can all come together and click like that. So I'll be tuning into your stuff. I'm excited to hear what's coming out there, and I love this energy. I just want us to keep pushing each other forward
