And I think that it's interesting because I took a class at UCSB with a professor named George Lipschitz, and he wrote a book called The Possessive Investment in Whiteness. And the book was more or less all about how white Anglo Saxon Protestant individuals, they feel this urge to not only fight to the death for their whiteness, but try to reinforce that hierarchy in every single way possible and how, if there's anything that's threatening that stability, they will freak out
