I reached out to a friend…he didn’t respond. I later learned why💔

So maybe he's on vacation with his kids, grandkids, whatever or what have you. I said, he'll probably get back to me on Sunday or maybe even Monday when the week begins. Well, I didn't hear from him on Sunday, and I really actually didn't realize it. I wasn't like waiting by the phone for his reply, but I didn't realize it until Monday morning, y'all. I log on Facebook and the first thing I see is news of his passing

It is that when we lose people. Just the other day, which I meant to make a swill, and it's funny because you made one similar to what I was gonna make. Just yesterday, I found out that a doctor that I worked with for a long time, who was very sweet, when I was in psych, he passed away. Nobody expected him to be sick. He was 61 years old. Very nice man, very friendly man

You know, I believe that. That the reason I reached out to him. Yeah, I needed a spring cleanup, but I think, why didn't I text him? You know, it was like I texted him on that day and it was like a connection. And I do believe that I've mentioned before how I had a dream about my sister passing before she even got sick. And so when she actually gave me the diagnosis, I was like, here it is

And then one day I noticed, I was like, wow, you know, I haven't seen him in the group. I haven't seen him, you know, on the page. Like, I'm so used to him fussing with me. And then I went to his profile and he had passed away. It's just so painful when you find out that way. It is. But definitely praying for you, praying for his family, and thank you so much for sharing this with us

It's like. It's actually comforting to be honest with you because I know that God is in control and I know that death is a part of life. So it's like, even when we're called home, even if it happens in a tragic way or sudden way, unexpected way, it's unexpected to us. But God really knows it all. He knows it all

And we just got to be grateful. And I'm saying this as a reminder to myself for every single moment and opportunity. And so right now, God, say thank you. Thank you for this divine moment, me hearing this message and being alive to enjoy today. So, again, my condolences and thank you for sharing your thoughts

Would have felt good in a moment to get it out. But imagine my last conversation with this person being me, telling them about themselves. It may end up that way one day, because we don't know our last day. But, hey, for today. Today my slate is clean. Because I learned to let it go. Because like you said, life is short. Talk to you soon. Bye

Hey, Ursula, you know, that. That's really sad. I'm sorry about the passing of your friend because I'm gonna call him your friend because it seemed like you guys were. And it just. It really just goes to show you that one moment we're here, one moment we're gone. But his life was full. I mean, you said he did some amazing things. He contributed to society on a level that most people don't even try to do

Sending Good vibes

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss here and thank you for sharing the story. I enjoyed the gentle way you care for him as someone that cares for you, as a business partner, community member, another human. And that was just really, really neat. It warmed my heart and reminded me that when folks don't respond, there's always another answer and a reaction is always a choice. And you react

He always had something to say to my son. Cause that was his wheelhouse, mentoring young men. So he wasn't gonna let any young man walk past him without giving him a word of encouragement or, hey, how's basketball going? Anything like that. So thank you for that. And I thank you for giving me some new language. Cause I love your way with words. Thank you
