AI can do WAY more than write your college paper. How about your NEXT BEST SELLING NOVEL?

article image placeholderA.I. Is Mastering Language. Should We Trust What It Says?
So this article is in the magazine section of The New York Times, and I'm going to link it here. And it basically is looking at something called GPT-3, which is about how artificial intelligence is learning how to create strings of words. And we know this has been existing for a while. You can ask it to write a paper on something and it can write a paper on it. It's hard to distinguish between a human writing that paper and the person and the computer writing that paper

@DBPardes "Purhaps we can learn from a Self aware algorithm of thoughts (AI).

But perhaps this is a moment for us to slow down on upgrading the hardware so much and really start looking as a species humanity into upgrading our BioWare. You know what I mean? Our brains, we're only using less than 10% to just say that a computer is doing it better than us. We really do have faith in humanity to the point we do believe that human minds can develop relatively faster, hold more information, or even have access to more information at any given moment

But again, it's a double edged sword, as you so clearly pointed out, that you can't really have that and not expect the same software of open AI to turn and fall into the hands of somebody who would use it for a more harmful agenda. And many of the tech gurus like Elon Musk and some others have readily outwardly spoken on the importance of writing just understanding that some ethics based around this

Deborah, this was a very nice article. And I just wanted to say that this kind of hit home for me because this week my son, who's a middle schooler, has been wanting to go to a game, and he figured about that he could use AI to generate the boilerplate template for a game. And so he did that. Don't ask me how he figured all this out. It's basically friends and YouTube and whatnot. And he's done that

Just like doctors partner with robots to do great surgery and to be at awe? You know, the way I was talking about it, like there's fear and there's awe and there's partnership. Like, we have to we have to be in the space that I think I discovered at the latest Crypto event where they were talking about inclusivity and access and equity and that's part of it. And reading these articles can freeze you with fear. If you think that it's a they versus us
