INDIA from the GROUND - from the heart

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
And I wish I could hold you through this silly device, but I can't. But I want to honor your story by asking you a question so we can at least document the moment we're in and really help people understand the heart space of people, not just the logistics and who's blaming who and what testing is happening and not happening and where oxygen is being dropped and not dropped. I want to get to that

We have to keep talking , keeping asking , stay connected , and do what we can. Thank you @Karan.Dev

And on the one hand, you feel like experiences like this makes you more grateful for the gift of life. And I guess for the things which we take for granted, like oxygen and clean air. But it really gets to you when you witness the situation at Crematoriums and at hospitals. I'm just linking a picture of an ambulance queue which one would think is for the entry to a hospital. But believe it or not, they're all headed to the Crematorium

Underground activities birthing from necessity?

And I'm just wondering, do you feel like there's a growing underground sort of black market movement for access to things quicker? Do you have a sense of a fast tracking culture that's happening in your own circles? Have you heard if you do this, this and this, this happens. I'm just wondering, are you feeling like there's a new layer happening of activism based on people? They say that necessity is the mother of all invention

New networks and open communication 🙏

And I also see research labs continuing to gain carry out their investigation into the new variant without being deterred. So yeah, definitely. I mean, there's a lot happening and as and when I get more reports, I'm definitely going to share it here as well

Thanks so much for this Deb. It was Cathartic discussing some of the aspects of what's going on in India today. And like I said, it's great to listen to what you guys are up to in Asanya, part of the world. So I will speak to you soon and have a great day

Why are ayurvedic clinics doing better at treating patients than allopathic

And I think that's one of the things we need to start thinking about proactively, especially in India from a grassroots point of view. I wonder if that is what are your perspective? How much are people actually valuing and practicing Ayurveda and utilizing it as a cautionary way to be healthier and more resilient to the virus? What are you noticing on the ground there? Is that even acknowledged or is the Western model of medicine just completely taken over everywhere? Because I know I growing up was brainwashed

@MysticScientist- Ayurveda isn’t getting the attention it deserves now :(

So while people are waiting for the vaccine and just booking appointments and stuff, the good sign, I mean, something that's quite positive is that I'm getting a lot of forwards on WhatsApp about Ayurveda and similar practices. So that's pretty cool. And India, I had a small request for you, your friend who you mentioned who's the doctor. Sounds like she really has an interesting perspective on all of this. And I think it will be awesome to hear her

@MysticScientist- courage and anger for the win 🙏

I pay attention to the trends that are emerging in smaller towns, and somehow they've always historically been the places where people have come together in very powerful ways. So I'm happy to hear that your family back home are doing well. And I love the idea of merging courage and anger. Like you said, I guess that's the ultimate formula to tackle any sort of injustice. So thanks again. And I hope we get to hear more interesting perspectives on what's going on

I know that the world is trying to figure this out with shipments, but I'm just wondering, what have you heard and give us an update. Is there anything any of us could do as listeners, as talks, as activists, as resourceful people? Also, please include any wishes you have for us because we are standing by and looking forward to hearing from you whenever you have a chance to connect

@DBPardes we need to wake up and face the shadows at the roots

But I just feel called that like, hey, maybe check out some other news sources that are contrarian to what's being the mainstream news and especially with India. And so if we really want to lean in and help, we need to radically change the way that food is brought into India. Why is KFC and Pizza Hut all over India? They already caused so much chronic illness in America. And we know that most of the black community is the one that suffered from the worst COVID situations here yet

A frustrated Sikh

They're like, hey, come join the protest because people at the protest have been fine and they haven't been suffering from outbreaks because they're outside and they're outdoors and they're fighting for something and they're doing something meaningful, that kind of message of being like, look, the farmers are still fighting the workers. Other farmers and the workers of India are still Cassan biting, working with each other. Okay. Whoa. And they're fighting and people can join all over the country

@MysticScientist VOICE PETITION

That's a very clear actionable start, you know, that points out the baseline you're seeing, which is the conversation around farmers, whether the farmers are here or the farmers are in India. Let's do it. Let's get a voice petition going and let people voice sign it and send it around the world ten times. Thank you for your clarity and your presence here. I really enjoy your voice and I'm. I'm here to amplify it with you

@Karan.Dev 🌱 check in

Karen, it's Deborah. It's May 13, 2021 and just wanted to touch base with you in this wonderful ongoing conversation we're having about life on the ground there. And you are in Mumbai. Just wanted to ask you how you're doing. Have you left the house? How is your immediate surrounding community doing? I know you're in an apartment building. Can you just give us a sense of movement? I know

@DBPardes- the power of community is driving this battle 🙏

I'm seeing people increasingly not trust the mainstream media, and a lot of the futile debates are being avoided, at least in my immediate network, where people are talking about whether you should take the vaccine or you shouldn't take the vaccine. And John Oliver, the comedian, did a very interesting bid on this the other night. He was talking about how people are hesitating to take the vaccine in America, despite almost I think you guys have more supply than any other country

Community connection on the face of pervasive govt sensorship

And how that ripple effect like you talk about with community, that ripple effect affects people's ability to think clearly, to make clear decisions, to have more capacity to help those who are not in a good space. I think the ripple of this is very powerful. It's not something that you say we can't chart this. There's no data for this. It's more of the curiosity I had. And thank you for answering

Social media and peer to peer communication networks ensure info flows..

So let's extend the temple compound and create certain vaccination facilities in these temples. And while the vaccines haven't arrived at these places, they've created the infrastructure for people to come get vaccinated because they really cling on to faith. And I've heard of other stories where civil society organizations and NGOs that are dedicated to things like water supply and in focused areas, they have come around and devoted their resources
