What world do you want to build together?

article image placeholderALOK on Instagram: "possibility is beautiful & necessary for everyone."
I don't want to paraphrase what Alok has just said with Jamie Lee Curtis in conversation. So I'm going to link the video here, take a second and listen it's less than a minute, and think about his message and maybe we can have a conversation about it here. It's really about their passionate plea for us to look at ourselves in unity with anybody who's being oppressed, but particularly the conversations we're hearing around the oppression of trans people

You know, listening back to this, I just realized I did sort of paraphrase, which makes me think the words we listen to really become the words we speak. Which is why it's so important to think about how we spend our time. I love your thoughts

It's. I watched this video a few days ago, and I wish everyone could see it. And I wish so many other people were saying it in such a succinct way. And I agree with the lock. I mean, everything that's happening is just mind blowing. And people forget that they were once persecuted for expressing themselves, their religion, their beliefs, how they looked. It just doesn't make sense at all

Because if you are okay with a marginalized community being oppressed, if you think it's okay that transgender citizens of the country be denied health care, if you think it's okay that women are not allowed agency over their own body or that black and brown people should be able to live with dignity and decency in their own homes. That shouldn't be allowed for cops to come in and shoot them up in their own home. You are either willfully ignorant or you are okay with the status quo
