Accountable to the Inmates

article image placeholderUploaded by @COWCATCHER
Has something to do with the bathroom. Yeah, I know, TMI. But each time we meet, we feel compelled to confess our faults and congratulate our wins, both as individuals and as a group. This past week, I gave them an assignment. So when someone asks you about the why try class, this is what you will say. Why try? Is about creating greater opportunity, freedom, and personal strength through resiliency education. I made them memorize it

So wonderful how your admission of turning to candy crush can suddenly just open the gate a little bit for people to come in and talk about what's going on with them. It's just like a beautiful flow of that. It's a great example of a small thing creating a large impact. It's so wonderful and beautiful to hear how you can connect weekly again and again, being together, being authentic and learning to be vulnerable and finding all the great things that that can bring to one's life

It's probably always just one little trigger event for a person that starts cracking that surface of what they thought they knew of themselves. It's a beautiful, beautiful swell, and I hope to hear more from you in the future

Jody, I love the transparency here, and I think you meeting them where you're at is going to better allow them to meet you where they're at. And I think that's really what accountability is, and that's what we're missing in life when it comes to being accountable are is people who are humble and are willing to walk the walk and not just seem like they haven't made. I don't know, maybe that's just my perspective
