Compassion in Business
How are you? You want some bread? Do you want some bread. Hi. Oh, my goodness. You walked right up to the porch. Oh, my goodness. I get some bread. I'll be right back. How do you like the way my voice changes when I get a deer? I'm going to leave that on here because she walked from the back woods and I was like, surely she's not going to walk all the way up here. No way

If people feel like they're being valued as a human being, all parts of them, they show up more fully. They feel connected and more loyal to the outcome of the company. And it starts with the leadership, of course. And some leaders get to their place because they fought tooth and nail to get there
You. Thank you so much. I am so glad to hear that you resonate with what I had to say, and I appreciate that the deer did not ruin it, because I thought it was perfect. I was, like, watching her walk towards me. Like, no way. I'm on a rant right now, and here comes a deer

I've heard so many beautiful examples of people showing up in their world of business where there's exchange, there's the marketplace, but there's something higher to value. There's this sense of community, the sense of we're in this together. Innovation rarely happens in a vacuum, and I think it happens when people are feeling safe enough to really imagine and to see what's possible. So, yeah, that's a big belief of mine
