article image placeholderBe Seen and Heard with Flipboard and Swell App
Hey, did y'all see my article I wrote on Swell and Flipboard. It's going to be pretty cool when educators can put these two apps together. We like to call it a smashing. Go ahead and click on the link and read the article. Tell me what you think

Hey, Coach Jeffrey, I wanted to thank you for bringing this to my attention. I'm definitely going to check it out some more. I was reading through your article and you brought up a lot of great points about Swell. I think Swell is going to become a very, very, a useful tool not only for students, but I also feel for educators to communicate ideas and share knowledge myself

Thanks Cali!

I used to be a varsity basketball coach, but now I'm an assistant principal, and I've been in various roles as an administrator. This is my first year back on a campus. I used to be a K twelve science coordinator, so professional development and teaching and teaching with technology. Those are my passions. I would love to see this app just used in a way that will allow teachers to collaborate with us others

Work smarter!

And I think you're wrapping all three of those into your analysis because there's enough technology and there's enough weapons out there that can really help further a goal into education and do it where everybody is working a little bit smarter. And I really like the voice into education. And I think that's going to be missing when you go to work from home or school from home. I think that's missing. And I saw that first hand with my daughter where some things were confusing

Thanks @Phil!

I think that as school evolves, that is going to have to be the mindset of us all is that conversations can continue around curriculum topics or maybe professional development topic. This is going to be huge for education. So I really appreciate your insight on that. And hopefully we all as educators can grow from this experience as we all are just trying to find ways to be super effective by not being face to face

They would get there first way before any of the school systems systems would actually post scores will come to find out the entire area was going to our site to get scores because I would have them out two to 3 hours before anybody else because they were all going through that same system. So there are easier methods out there if we look for them

Spot on!

Hey, man, you know what? This is a time now where we need to circumvent some of the technologies that have been ingrained in education because a lot of corporations have made a lot of money and the stuff doesn't work. I mean, it's just is really not useful. It's not helpful to parents, even your analogy of checking scores

Hi. So I am not a teacher. I'm a home school teacher. So technically, I'm a teacher. I teach my four and five year old boys for an indefinite amount of time, as in their entire school career. I was reading your article, and I really liked it. One thing that I wanted to point out is that I have noticed that more places are starting to integrate more communication based learning. That's not paper to students. And I think that's pretty cool

I really like how simple and basic this app is. There is one other app that I know of, but it's subscriptionbased. It's called Seesaw that does recordings and things like that for student planning and school planning. But yeah, I agree with Phil. As in I think that this app would be really good to help the communication barrier as far as between teachers and students

Feedback is a gift

Hey, shout out to you. Mtoir. I see you on the thing. And Miss Chalk appreciate you giving me some feedback. Yeah, just trying to find ways we can integrate communication apps with students. And teachers preferably our teachers giving a voice because we've talked about on many threads that I've been on here is that I really just want to hear how teachers feel about going back to school and a pandemic

JOIN CODE. Coming. Teaching roundtable TODAY!

Also, today we're starting an education roundtable. I'll post that here as soon as it's launched, which will be really focused on bringing best practices to professional development and to learning. So it's an exciting week for Swell because of the new launch, probably by the end of the week or next week. And also the idea that we're all kind of connecting around a virtual table to figure out how to get these kind of conversations going inside the classroom and also between teachers

Coach Jeffery, I really was, you know, writing with a couple of people specifically with Howie and a few others about the opportunity to have use cases come to the fore around how Swell can be used specifically with best practices, but specifically with the curriculum and how that could really open up because I know people are inundated with innovation sometimes, but they don't know use cases. So I'm excited to really dig into that
