How can you recover quickly from being laid off or fired?

In fact, if I can put a link, I will. One is Elizabeth Kubler Ross's, the grief cycle. Even though she made that to deal with death, the emotions we often feel with the loss of a job can feel like that to us, to our ego in particular. So elizabeth Kubla ross the grief cycle or Dr. William Bridges. His model is called transitions

Hey, Christine. I really appreciated this because I got laid off from my part time job in March. It was a contract position that I had been working since June of 21. And when they laid us off, I did not foresee it because there was nothing to indicate that they were going to be reducing staff. And I found out on March the 6th

Human nature of things

But I wanted to mention that because the human element of that, the human feeling of rejection, if I couldn't overcome that on something that I wanted and asked for, then I don't think it's possible to overcome that. That is just human nature that we just can't overcome. And it's just, I think, unshakable

Christine, thank you so much for this really timely and helpful swell. I'm going to share it with several of my friends who are currently feeling the pain, grief and heartbreak of being laid off. I know it's a really challenging time for a lot of people and for my friends who haven't been laid off, I have a few who are worried about it due to the industries that they're in, the conversations that are happening at their jobs

And him having all those similar feelings of grief and maybe rejection and not knowing what to do and all the things that everyone experiences because it is the human condition, right? Our ego and our identity is attached to our work. A lot of people don't know that until they have to go through this change. So again, I just want to say thank you for sharing your story. And again, I'm going to keep sharing this because I want people to hear everyone's experiences

And so it's time for us to put together, hopefully, a toolkit that people can access very, very quickly. And there's nothing better, I think, than this platform to do that, ironically, because it's short and sweet and people can access stories that might touch them in ways that they don't even anticipate. So let's keep going. Okay, bye

@ChristineGrimm - a relevant topic for the current landscape. Thank you for getting this conversation going.

Definitely come to terms with it and take the time to grieve or to process if you must, but remember to not let this define you. As someone else pointed out in the reply over here, as human beings, I think we love the association, the validation that comes with our jobs, that more often than not, we internalize that we are our jobs. We are what we do. But that's not true

I also encourage people to as you're going through the grieving cycle, if you have been fired or laid off or if you left a job and you're grieving it, right, it was your choice, but you are grieving it. It's all right. In that process, if you're moving through the cycle and giving yourself space to do that, the energy in your body will naturally recover from the low points with some high points. Sometimes that's creativity, sometimes it's doodling

And what it was, was the guys knew it was my last night, so they did all my chores at night, and one of them stayed over so I could do my computer work and just chill for a little bit, then go out. But long story short, I got to get back to work. And it's hard, and the depression is hard, but the question I really wanted to ask was, has there been changes in human Resources?

Hope, on a Friday afternoon #hope #blackhistory #johnlewis

This is from one of the craziest, most accidental moments of my life. You see this group of kids in this photo? Well, they are students from Orlando, and this is on the steps of the US. Capitol. This is the same day that Trayvon Martin's parents came to the Hill to testify. And John Lewis, as you may be able to see, is in the middle there
