Multiamory - a podcast about ethical non-monogamy, poly, the works

article image placeholderMultiamory
And I welcome for one if that is you. But yeah, I have always really liked Multi Memory as a podcast, even from when I was like a baby polyamorous person, and it's not something I listen to religiously, but I love going to them when I have a specific problem because they'll probably have something on that problem. And I love listening to their podcasts, just like with partners, just because it's nice. It opens up conversations

Hey, Charlie, this is rare. Todd, how are you? I just recently heard about the concept of non monogamous, ethical, non monogamy or polyamory. It's quite intriguing, but one thing I wonder about is the jealousy that could transpire. I'm sure you have a very good answer, but I've always wondered about that since learning about this concept of loving multiple people at the same time. Yeah, interesting. So how do you deal with jealous emotions? How does that work?

Hi, Ray Todd. So this is quite a common question that you get when you're polyamus or ethical non monogamous. And one main thing that I say in reply is it's to remind yourself that jealousy and envy are, for the most part, inward things they are most likely to do with your own insecurities and your own history and things like that

Yes! I challenge thee to an episode hunt

I love this podcast so much. I recently finished listening to one of their latest episodes, which just have to do with talking about feelings, which no matter your relationship style or boundaries, I think can apply to all of us us

And it's also nice listening to James, Emily and Denica because they're like closer to my age. And it's nice mixing different views of polyamory and listening to different things and take what you like and leave the rest

Thanks so much for this recommendation. As far as one of your favorite episodes, I have not listened to that episode yet. So I just put it on my up next in my podcast player and I'm going to listen to it because I'm Super curious what they have to say about this. It sounds like a really helpful episode and like you said, one that you can apply to all kinds of relationships. So thank you so much for the recommendation and hope to hear more from you soon

That is a really good one. It's about a couple who do podcasts. They talk about their relationships, each other's relationships and all that kind of stuff. They have guests on and it's really interesting how I'm looking forward to kind of what's going on with them because they do like kind of a blog style update kind of podcast. So it'll be interesting to see what's going on with their relationships coming up

And it's not always about that. There's like a deeper layer. And they're starting to talk a lot about friendship, which I appreciate. And I'm starting to notice more of like just based on kind of listening to their podcast, more of like thinking about the importance of having genuine friendships build into something. And I'm starting to be able to do that with somebody that I was kind of in a casual relationship for a while

Alright. So it's really cool to see different polyamory beds out here and I've been waiting and waiting for a new episode of Multiamory. So here it is. I'm probably going to listen tonight or tomorrow. And I thought we could talk about it here because I have been contemplating a lot about this and the kind of relationships that the different types of relationships that everybody practices

But what I want to do is find an episode on how to take the existing dynamic, which is more of a kind of a swinging open and kind of afraid of judgment kind of being feeling like having to be sneaky into a dynamic of introducing it to the roundtable community into a more roundtable structure. So if there are any episodes that can kind of help with that, that's kind of what I'm working on at this point
