To continue with the A to Z poets challenge, let's celebrate the poet Octavio Paz. Octavio Paz was born in 1914. He died in 1998. He was a Mexican poet, an essayist, and he was a diplomat who was considered one of the most important literary figures of the 20th century. Paz's work often explored complex themes such as identity, thee and memory, and the relationship between the individual and society. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1990

Who made the swan and the black bear? Who made the grasshopper? This grasshopper, I mean the one who has flung herself out of the grass the one who is eating sugar out of my hand who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes? Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face. Now she snaps her wings open and floats away. I don't know exactly what a prayer is

Hi, Bowie. This is the first swell that I listened to was from you and it caught my attention because of Mary Oliver, who I adore and, funny enough, have one of her prose books next to my bedside table. I love that you mentioned Spring and her poem there. I wanted to read a little caption from this prose that I have from her long life essays and other writing. And this is on page four
