Poem: The Pursuit of Gold

And then after the poem, I'll go ahead and talk a little bit about it in terms of what I was thinking when I wrote it. So the title of the poem is the pursuit of gold. Once was a man who went on a voyage. He was fair, handsome and young in age by choice, he left everything behind him, all things dear he abandoned on a whim, in search of all that glimmered like gold. A ruthless pursuit turned his heart cold

Sometimes we forget what is really important, and we spend so much time and energy and resources in the pursuit of things that are materialistic, that really don't matter, don't really value so much in the long run, and don't bring us closer to being happy. Yet when you look around you, you see so many people losing so much just in that pursuit of a bigger house, a bigger car, better clothes. It's tragic. Anyways, thank you for sharing it

And I wrote this kind of moral type of poetry that was inspired by this friend of mine. And the end of the real life story is, well, he's still on his path. You can only advise. And I think he will learn it on his own over time, hopefully, if he's wise enough. But anyway, pile. So that's what it is. And I think, including myself, there are times, of course, that we all do that, right?
