Being an indie creator is hard

article image placeholderUploaded by @Byrdseyeview
And I know that as a business person, as an entrepreneur, I have to keep drilling it. And it's just not my character. I don't like to force things down people's throats. And sometimes you do in order for you to get noticed. This past week I've been really trying to make a lot of posts on Facebook and on Instagram and TikTok. And yeah, I get a fair amount of likes, I get a fair amount of views and everything

And yes, it is hard, as you mentioned, but listening to you, I know that there is hope and it inspires me to keep going no matter what. Of course. I really agree with you when it comes to the algorithm. As artists, we look for originality, right? You look for originality. And it is very frustrating when you got to keep repeating the same piece of work over and over again. It is frustrating for you and it's frustrating for your audience as well

But ultimately in terms of what will draw attention and sales to the creative work that you're doing, not the Internet posts, the Internet posts that you're making to promote your actual work. That stuff doesn't necessarily come from a recent post. Like, sometimes I will get big spikes in interest for, like, a song that I made two years ago and just somebody has discovered it and shared it

Don't get jealous and don't get competitive with each other, but just push each other to get to the top. And if that person gets to the top and perhaps they'll help people that push them there, go up there with them to push them up with them, like climbing a mountain. You throw down the rope soon as you get to the top so the other people can climb up, and then we're all together

It's going to be difficult. And we just got to keep pushing forward and just keep doing what we love to do. Because if we ain't doing what we love to do, then we're going to be miserable. We're going to be sitting here doing stuff we don't like doing just to make a living. And it's more than a hobby to me. Drawing and creating a comic book series is not just a hobby to me. It's something that I want to be

Because as indie artists, we should be working together as one to bring out our indie stuff. The ones we're competing with are the big people like Marvel and DC. But in the end, we kind of are competing with each other, and I don't like that. But whatever. It is what it is. So, yeah, thanks for the feedback on that. Santosan it was really good to hear back and hear your feedback on that
