The initial idea is the least interesting thing about a startup

The second, the more interesting reason is that in my experience, at least the initial idea that a startup starts out with is almost never the idea that they actually meet eventual success with. This is what Pivoting is all about. We actually had a conversation about the art of the Pivot sometime back on sale, and I will separately put a link to that as well

Why execution and pivoting is more important. #startups

I wanted to share here the link to the Art of the Pivot conversation. We had some time back on my personal forecast and I thought that was very interesting in the context of this discussion. And it is includes comments from many other founders who have done other successful Silicon Valley startup and tech companies. So you'll find some good perspectives there. How to take investors along the journey ...

And have you and your experience come up against resistance from investors who say, I'm sorry we bought into this idea and we can't support the new idea. And are there memos of understanding that help people in these awkward times when ideas shift and investors don't want to go with a new idea

Invest in the team and ability to execute

As an example, there's a company I'm looking at right now from an investment perspective, which started out doing something because of the pandemic. Their original business plan just completely would not scale up because it was related to travel and travel is not happening. So now they are pivoting to a whole different area, taking advantage of what they've already built. And that is to me, the reason I have confidence in that is the team itself is doing a good job
