Lorde's first song in 4 years ☀️

It's a little too sunny, and I like Lord's Darkness, but it's also cool to see you're doing something new here's, a little quiet up of it. Tell me what you think. Listen to this song and let's talk about it. This is a new direction for sure

I think it's a wrong direction for her. She was so kind of a little offcenter, I think also she had a great producer for the first project I kind of got acquainted with. This feels super or bubblegummy derivative. I haven't really delved into the lyrics, but the feelings of the whisper aspect and the kind of watery Reverb stuff. It's not my thing. There's no complexity in the harmonic changes that were in the first few stuff

Yeah, I really because I believe for this song and the next album she comes out, I think she worked with Jack Antonoff, which he worked with Taylor Swift on. Oh, my gosh. I think it was 1989 was the first one he worked with Thrown, but I feel like Taylor Swift was already coming from that super poppy kind of overproduced sound. So I feel like it's something that she can pull off and that we expect from her

i like it!

I have seen a lot of criticism that, like funny discourse, really not really criticism that this song sounds like a Razor commercial. Like, you would hear this in the background of a Razor commercial where women are running around on the beach and things like that, which, honestly, I can understand and see that being a thing. But I do like the song, but again, it's so different than, like her normal sound that I think it's kind of like a shock to her fans

I don’t know how to feel with this song

And who knows, maybe she will keep going in this direction or maybe go back to more of her old style. Either way, this song, it's been hard for me to get into it, and it's usually really easy for me to just enjoy her music, but I just it's not personally for me, but I understand how other people could enjoy the song

I think that this song is definitely an interesting take on what Lord has done in the past. I do agree with one of the comments shared that this picture is just a straight quote, unquote but cheek shot. I think that it's definitely interesting, but it's a little too much, but

More to discuss!

I loved hearing all of these opinions about Lord's new song and also the entire kind of creative aesthetic associated with it. And I thought it was interesting that multiple people brought up the b*** shot. It definitely definitely is very significant choice for sure

The reception to that was, like, kind of mixed. In my opinion. I support anything she wants to do whatever she's comfortable with. I pretty much support her if she's going to run into some controversy lately. I don't know anything about, but I heard there's some backlash, so I should look into that actually. All right. Well, that's all I wanted to say

Freedom

I heard one comment about this song. I read a comment on the YouTube video, and it was it just posted the lyrics to George Michael's freedom, so that will ruin this song for you because it's basically the the same chord structure, same style. And then I just Googled it. I thought it was interesting that the George Michael estate gave them freedom to use that as an inspiration. So I thought that was kind of interesting. Yeah. I like the song
