Study finds cash aid increases brain activity in babies

article image placeholderCash Aid to Poor Mothers Increases Brain Activity in Babies, Study Finds
I just came across the results of this really interesting study which shows that cash aid to low income mothers has increased the brain activity of their babies. Now, there is much more research to do on this, but I thought this was really compelling because this could really impact policy potentially

I'm sure for some people, but I think the majority it would just lead to a feeling of support and the actuality of support which would decrease the place of vulnerability and decrease the cycle of maybe even end the cycle of misfortune and darkness that people can fall into. So thanks for sharing this study. Sorry that's messy reply, but it's a topic I'm very interested in and know only a little bit about. So yeah, thanks for sharing

But what we're trying to understand here is why specifically money is the key to this development. And is there another way? Have we done studies on things Besides money and dollars incentives in order to understand if it is just a positive reaction in their life creates a better development for the baby?

@JCB07 Great points!

Because growing up in a working poor or working class household, when there is so much focus just on living paycheck to paycheck, and if any emergency comes up, your parents or caregivers or whoever the person is, the adult or older person who is responsible for you and taking care of you must prioritize just the bottom line of I need to make sure I can put food on the table, I need to make sure I can pay rent, make a car payment in order to get to work
